First of all, I'd like to thank you for checking out my work.. unless you decided to keep scrolling in hopes of more pictures of my dog, in that case, thanks for your interest in my dog.

Now, I'm not going to bore you with clichés, like, "I've been in to art since I was a little kid, drawing on everything I could get my hands on." Yeah, we get it, what kid doesn't like to draw?

I really got started in design on a bootlegged version of Adobe Photoshop CS4. I know I said I wasn't going to hit you with the clichés, but if you didn't bootleg photoshop back in the day, are you really a designer? My first design was an unsolicited personal ad to help a friend find love... sorry Andy, but you helped ignite a creative fire that will never extinguish. But I really started taking design seriously in a film class where I was more interested in designing the poster than shooting the film. 10 years later and I'm still designing with no end in sight.

Currently, I am the Art Director/Senior Designer at Danny Wimmer Presents, the largest boutique music festival producer in North America. We produce festivals across the United States; with some of the biggest names in music as our headlining acts, like Hall & Oates, Metallica, Guns N Roses, John Mayer, Blake Shelton, Blink 182, and My Chemical Romance to name a few.

Previously I held the title as Visual Designer (on contract) at Riot Games. I worked within our Central Creative department, on the IP Guidelines team and mostly focused on style guides for all of the Champions and Factions in our IP. These guides are shipped to external and internal partners to produce all types of products including clothing (partnerships with H&M and Uniqlo), toys and now with the newly formed Film & TV departments.

Danny Wimmer Presents Festivals

Art Direction + On-Site Content Managment

Working as the Art Director/Senior Designer at Danny Wimmer Presents has given me the opportunity to travel around the continental U.S. and work with some of the biggest bands in the world, like Metallica, Slipknot, and the Misfits to name a few.

2021 was an uncertain year for live music, but we brought 4 massive festivals to the fans. In my role, I partnered with our Creative Director and contracted artists to create unique brand identities for each festival that span across all digital and physical on-site materials. Every year we re-brand all of our festivals with a new look and feel to keep the fans as well as our bands excited for the coming run of shows.

In addition to the designing brand identities and marketing materials, I oversaw all social media and content messaging on-site for each festival. This included all social posting and working directly with our content team of photographers and videographers to capture the festival in the style and voice that we had crafted the months preceding the show date.

Avatar Coffee Roasters

Branding + Identity

The fine folks at Avatar Coffee Roasters approached me to create a luxurious and elegant brand identity for the launch of their brand. This project included designing theor Logo, Bags, shipping containers, and Labels for all 13 of their Roasts and Blends.

Avatar is a Sanskrit word meaning incarnation of a diety. I developed their Sun Logo based on the Hindu god, Surya – I thought Surya was fitting for the brand as coffee is often used to brighten peoples lives and energize them.

Pantheon Coffee

Branding + Identity

The sister brand of Avatar Coffee Roasters, Pantheon Coffee Roasters are a slightly more accessible brand of coffee geared for the “grocery store” coffee consumer, bringing high-quality fresh roasted coffee to the price conscious coffee drinker. For this project, I designed the Bags, K-Cups + Cartons, as well as the labels for their Gold Standard and Silver Collections

Pantheon’s brand identity is inspired by Greek mytholgy, assigning a Greek god to each blend/roast.

My Chemical Romance

Artist Headlining Announcement

Earlier in 2020, the Emo/Pop-Punk band My Chemical Romance announced a reunion tour. Our talend bookers at Danny Wimmer Presents worked their magic and booked MCR to co-headline our Sacramento festival, ‘Aftershock’ alongside Metallica.

This news was huge and we couldn’t just announce them with our traditional tour artwork. I came up with the iniative to featuring their most memorable lyric “I’m not o-f**king-k” on a wheatpaste campaign where we posted this image in LA and the Bay area to announce the show.

Disrupt Music Festival

Brand Identity

For Rockstar’s Disrupt Music Festival, I had the honor of concepting and designing the entire brand Identity for the show, from the Tour Poster, marketing content, on-site stage design, as well as experiential elements for the festival field.

Being an “emo” music festival, I knew I had to incorporate bright colors and skulls. Boom! The Last Supper came to mind, having some of the biggest names in Emo music on the bill, it was the only way to honor all of the bands. I designed the Skeleton characters to have emo hair cuts and to be featured in halloween costumes, every Emo kids favorite holiday. On site the artwork carried over to the stage and fence scrims, we also had giant inflatables of a few of the skeletons.

The Naked & Famous

Merch Design

The Australian Indie-pop Duo The Naked and Famous commissioned me to create a couple limited edition shirts for the drop of their first single, “Sunseeker” of their new record.

I sourced the blanks and printing from Upcycle LA, a local t-shirt manufacturer focused on sustainability. each one of these shirts is made up of 5 plastic water bottles

Active Ride Shop

My Pro-Model Deck

As many southern California boys, I spent most of my teen days skateboarding with my friends, so this was a really special project for me. Active was THE spot to fill all of your clothing and skate goods.

When given the opportunity by Active’s skate buyer to design my own deck, I knew exactly what I wanted to be on it… Active Socks! These socks were a badge of honor amongst the skate kids in Orange County. Juxtaposed with womens heels the active socks was my subtle nod to Hook-Ups pin-up/anime inspired art.

Illustrations

I found myself in a creative rut not too long ago, so I tasked myself with completing one drawing everyday for a year. I bought an iPad, downloaded the drawing app Procreate, and drew myself out of my funk. This not only boosted my creativity, but improved my illustration skills, and helped me develop strong time management skills.
